What is the diffrence between "i" and "p"? - whats the difference between 1080p output and 1080p upconverting
My drive Blu-ray has said an output of 1080p, but my TV, it can be up to 1080i. I know that "progressive" and "interlaced", but what it means. Please explain the difference? If I want the best of both, what should I replace them?

I = interlaced. The image is created by the development of the odd rows of pixels first drawing and then the even lines.
P = Progressive Scan. The image is from top to bottom in sequential order.
The only thing in 1080p a Blue Ray movie to connect to your TV using an HDMI cable.
