I want to see if you have a progressive scan feature of the DVD player. Other causes may be, if you have the right to have DVI. There are several types of DVI-D, DVI-I, etc. RESEARCH the link below in relation to what actually provided.
Your monitor needs to support DHCP. Without the support DHCP or DVI or HDMI to work from a DVD player.
